The girl of the tower.

I began this almost immediately after seeing the amazingness which is Tangled back in November. It started as a gouache painting but I didn't get very far because of projects. When I finally returned to it, I noticed so many things I felt were wrong, so i re-drew it, scanned it, began it, put it off for a month or two due to portfolio, and here it is! The pose for Rapunzel was inspired by two Mucha works combined.

Rapunzel is Disney's

Texture from CGTextures (I think).

I've been wondering how this style of picture is made, could you tell me exactly how you do this?
i've been wanting to do a self portrait for a while, and i think i've finally decided that i want to do it in this style. but i've NEVER tried this style before.
i'm alright with watercolors, and i can do line art.
Do you draw the basic lines first, and then just scan that, and add colors/textures digitally? Are there ways to do it all traditionally? I love traditional.

I think it's great that it's so obviously pieces from Mucha, Disney and your own style. This is really fantastic. :)

AH *dies* stunning. the pose is so beautiful, and i love the pensive look n her face like she is planning her next masterpiece! The sun motif works very well in this context.
